Get Hurt, Have Fun, Be Two Things At Once: Horoscopes May 25-31, 2026
I took a required freshman class in college called “Constraints and Creativity,” and the professor was high on Valium most of the time, so it was somewhat of a mystery. As sometimes happens, at the very end of the class, I realized what it was about: the relationship between limitation and expansion. Sometimes, it is the limitations imposed on us that create the greatest growth.
This week, the energies reflect that concept. Pluto makes intense aspects with Mars and the Sun, which can show up as both power and oppression. Oppressive experiences ask us to look at our own power, though. The Full Moon at the end of the week charges up the areas of our charts where we play games for fun and play games to win.
If there is no winning, we get to choose whether to still have fun. If you are experiencing oppression or unfair power, pause, allow yourself to see your own power, and let the constraints force you into creative solutions.

For horoscope principles this week, I am primarily looking at the following celestial events:
Mars in Taurus squares Pluto in Aquarius on Monday, May 25, 2026, at 9:01pm Pacific. This is an intense and charged transit, where the energies of anger, war, and violence, are in tension with the energies of depth, transformation, and power. When we resist these energies or repress them, they come out violently and destructively. When we can notice them and allow them, they quickly transform what is not healthy for us.
The Sun in Gemini trines Pluto in Aquarius on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 8:52am Pacific. This transit offers depth of knowing about who we are in our core. In Gemini, it invites us to look at a space in our nature where who we deeply are has many parts and is changeable. This offers depth of insight into who you are at your most free and changeable.
Venus in Cancer squares Saturn in Aries on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 8:02pm Pacific. Venus governs how we connect and create beauty, and Saturn governs limitation and discipline. This transit can bring limitation and reality to relationships that we might have idealized, and it can also bring dependability and stability (even if we don’t want that). In Cancer, Venus asks for nurturing and loyalty, and in Aries, Saturn shows us consequences where we fail to be courageously authentic. This can bring tension between a space where we want to be nurtured and experience consequences for compromising our integrity.
The Full Moon in Sagittarius happens on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at 1:45am Pacific. This is a Blue Moon because it is the second Full Moon of this month (the first Full Moon was a Scorpio Full Moon). The Sun is in Gemini and the Moon opposite in Sagittarius. This creates tension between the security we find around a tangible version of truth and the knowing we have that different perspectives bring multiple truths. If we are in a post-truth era, this Full Moon invites us to consider that multiple perspectives can also be valid truths, even if that is in tension with our security.
Mercury in Gemini sextiles Chiron in Aries on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at 5:32pm Pacific. This is a supportive aspect for communicating about the woundings we’ve experienced related to courageous authenticity. Who you are authentically is valid, even if other perspectives exist about your woundings.
Jupiter continues in Cancer until the end of June; Uranus continues in Gemini; Neptune continues in Aries.
These are the principles to consider for the week of May 25, 2026. It is worth taking a look at both your rising and sun sign horoscopes (visit astro.com to find your rising sign):
Aries: When Jennifer Lawrence won an Oscar, she famously tripped and fell on the steps walking up to accept the award. Rather than ruining her reputation, it endeared her to many people and made her magnetically vulnerable. The transformation you are experiencing in your friend groups is infusing power into your closest community this week, but it may come with snafus, unfairness, or even damage related to your money and values. Talk with your closest people about woundings you’ve experienced around showing up authentically and allow the transformation to show you your own power.
Taurus: People pleasing is essentially saying “no” ahead of time to what is correct for you and what you want. If this week starts out unpleasantly or even terribly for you, look at ways you are disconnected from your own needs and desires, especially related to security and vulnerability. Consequences and even injuries this week can bring insight into what it means to nurture yourself. Later in the week, your values and the freedom you need to hold your values lightly are infused with power. Be willing to shift to bring in abundance.
Gemini: When loyalty is misused, it becomes devotion to abusive situations; when it is used well, it becomes loyalty to ourselves and that which is healthy for us. This week, your ideals and higher learning infuse with power the changes you are experiencing in how you present to the world. While you may not primarily think of yourself as powerful, it is important to allow the power to come through, even if you worry that it will threaten your security in partnerships. Communicate about the woundings you’ve experienced related to being authentic in your friend and social groups because the changes you are experiencing can heal others, as well as you.
Cancer: The thinking that we choose creates emotions, and those emotions impact how we show up in our everyday lives and even our health. This week, you experience limitations from your career that impact the loving and nurturing way you show up in the world. The more you can work with your unconscious mind to identify and communicate woundings you’ve experienced related to authenticity in your career, the more you can create security in your everyday health and life.
Leo: If it’s fun, do it, even if you’re tired. I am not usually one to buy into the “I’ll sleep when I’m dead” theory of rest, but this week, Leo, you are infused with power, and the key to that power is making it fun. This Full Moon may bring out vulnerability related to your children and creative projects that creates tension around fully showing up as your fun self in your friend and social groups. You are gifted a special ability to communicate about the woundings you have related to authenticity, though, and my advice is be vulnerable and host the party.
Virgo: If your job were a multi-player game, how would you make sure you not only won, but also had the most fun possible? This week, if you are too focused on winning being the only form of security, you may miss the opportunity to create real teamwork and connection. The Pluto transits connect your career and public facing life with power related to the transformations your health and daily routine are undergoing. Use that power to create fun and also to share vulnerably about woundings you’ve experienced related to authenticity in how your partners have handled money.
Libra: In her book Beyond Anxiety, Martha Beck recommends these steps to creating a “beautiful, practical, and magical” life: calm yourself, wander around, catch fire, practice deeply, get stuck, trust. This week the universe is offering you those steps, maybe not in order, to embrace and enhance the beauty of what you are offering to the world. It is constraints that push us to true creativity, and also for you, seeing multiplicity of reality informs your ideals. When you feel limited or backed into a corner (or even shamed), let it push you toward the bursts of insight waiting around the corner.
Scorpio: One of the rudest things in life is when you are incredibly intentional about how you show up in a situation, and it unexpectedly goes awry anyway. You are incredibly intentional about how you show up at all times, and this week, no matter how intentional you are, it does not go how you wanted in your partnerships and home life. That is because who you are in those areas is ready to transform. The more you see your own power and allow it to transform into something new, the more you’ll be able to use these energies in your favor.
Sagittarius: Many people hate participation trophies because if everyone wins, nobody wins. This week, when competition comes up, notice whether you are playing the game for fun or whether winning feels like a survival-level need. Even though partnerships are fun and natural to you, you have power in them, which can be challenging to acknowledge. This week asks you to look at whether you use that power to prove you are worthy or for the benefit of the whole community. The more intentional you are, the more your power benefits those you care about most.
Capricorn: One way to learn what you value is to think about the past two weeks to a month and how you spent your time. The more realistic you are, the more accurate you can be about what your values are (as opposed to what you want them to be). As your values transform over then next 18 years, your actions will change to reflect that, including what you create in the world. This week, as you look at your values, examine whether the boundaries you have in partnership and at home are really boundaries (actions you take to create safety and reward in your space) or control (expectations of other people). The more you release others and are intentional with yourself, the more you will use this energy in your favor.
Aquarius: The line between having standards and having entitlements is thinner than most of us think. The difference is whether we are applying the standards to ourself, understanding that we can release relationships that are not correct for us, or to another person, expecting them to conform to our will. This week asks you to look at how you engage with power. If you use it to control others, while expecting freedom for yourself, you will continue to face insecurity. Own your power and use it intentionally.
Pisces: Seeing all perspectives can be an incredibly valuable skill, and it can be something that leads to indecision and even learned helplessness. Each of us is fixed and stubborn in some areas and flexible in others. This week challenges you to transform in areas where you are stubborn, have boundaries where in the past you have merged, and allow yourself to be both one unified person and many parts. Ultimately, check in with your body as your guidance system for what is right for you as you go through this testing. It might not be what you expect.
