Poetry of Reality: Horoscopes June 1-7, 2026
I’ve been a big sleep talker all of my life. One time, when I was around 6 years old, my brother and I were both sleeping in a loft that had two beds in it (I actually think it had three, but that’s too many beds so I’m fixing the memory for you).
My dad fell asleep reading to my brother, who was around 3 at the time. In the middle of the night, my brother started sleepwalking and saying he wanted to sleep in my bed. Then, I got up, still fully asleep, and said it was fine, and that we could swap beds. My dad was flummoxed trying to convince two sleepwalkers to get in their own beds.
There is similar confusion in the air this week around feelings. Often, whether we are empathic or not, we are more comfortable telling people how they feel than communicating how we feel. “You’re annoyed with me,” “You’re mad at me,” or “You like them better than me,” we think and even say instead of saying, “I feel insecure” or “I feel vulnerable.” This week that type of confusion comes up to remind us that other people’s feelings are not our business until they communicate them to us or ask them to read them in a professional exchange. Your business is to process and (sometimes) communicate your own feelings. Consent and boundaries create healthy relationships even (especially) for empaths!

For horoscope principles this week, I am primarily looking at the following celestial events:
Mercury goes into Cancer on Monday, June 1, 2026, at 4:55am Pacific. Mercury represents how we think and communicate. Mercury is going from Gemini, where they rule and are comfortable with speed and changeability, to Cancer, where things are more touchy feely and emotional. Mercury in Cancer has a poetical quality and sensitivity, unless under threat, when things can become dark.
The Sun in Gemini sextiles Saturn in Aries on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at 3:48pm Pacific. This provides some structure for you to use to put into place the changes and releasing you allowed on the Sagittarius Full Moon last week.
Mercury in Cancer squares Neptune in Aries on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 5:18pm Pacific. In the pursuit of sensitive communication, you may just be confusing. Sometimes, what seems harsh to say provides needed and supportive clarity. Notice when you are drawn to imaginary ideals and interpret communications in a pretty way. Reality may feel harsh but, sometimes harsh is healthy. On the other hand, this is a beautiful day for song and poetry writing.
Mars continues in Taurus; Jupiter continues in Cancer until the end of June; Uranus continues in Gemini; Pluto continues in Aquarius.
These are the principles to consider for the week of June 1, 2026. It is worth taking a look at both your rising and sun sign horoscopes (visit astro.com to find your rising sign):
Aries: One of the most foundational magics you can practice is making friends with the spirit of the land where your home rests. If you are nomadic, this is still important and may include myriad spirits. The structure and support your home offers allows you creativity and freedom to dream and structure your reality. This week gives you access to bring beauty into your home. Even if it doesn’t look how you wanted at first, experiment with expressing yourself at home.
Taurus: Sometimes the spiritually true and the technically true are different but both are important to understand and hold. For example, when you are talking to a narcissist, they often will be able to point out that they did not technically say something, even though the impact of what they said is consistent with the problem you are raising. This week gives you access to speak in poetry, and also the structure to check in with reality, especially when it comes to your money and values.
Gemini: The most effective way to figure out what you value is to look at how you spend your time. When we do this, we often realize that the reality of our values is different than what we imagine them to be. This week gives you the opportunity to compare what you imagine your values to be with what they actually are. This can bring up sensitivity around how you fit in with other people, so be safe and nurturing with yourself should you choose to engage with this process.
Cancer: Toxic positivity happens when we value positivity over reality or truth. This week, you may feel some pressure to idealize your experience of career or public-facing life. If you find yourself valuing potential over reality, check in with your sense of safety and security. Give yourself the security and safety you need to acknowledge reality, even if you aren’t ready to talk about it yet. Courage usually means acknowledging our fears and sensitivities.
Leo: In order to be whole and have integrity, we have to integrate the parts of ourselves that culture has told us are unacceptable or undesirable. This week is a good time for you to hold a meeting with your inner child, inner critic, and higher self. If you assume each of these parts of you is important and has value, how can they integrate more effectively to support your whole self? How you show up in your friend groups might provide practical insight into this puzzle.
Virgo: Romance novels are usually more about the dream of someone caring about the main character’s safety over their own comfort than they are about s*x. In this way, we can romanticize friends and work colleagues as much as we romanticize partners. And, also, it is fair for all of us to expect others to care about our safety over their comfort. This week, check in with the reality of the supports in your life and what they say about your boundaries, even as you allow romantic ideals to flourish.
Libra: In Sleepless in Seattle, Nora Ephron wrote, “You don’t want to be in love. You want to be in love in a movie!” This week, pay attention to the difference between being in love and being in love in a movie. Our partnerships deserve romance and reality, and it is healthy to know that they are not always the same thing. If you were to write a romance novel about an ambitious career woman finding supportive partnership, what is the biggest challenge your main character would need to overcome? How are her struggles your own (whatever gender you are)? Take the advice you would give her when it comes to the reality of her struggles.
Scorpio: Our daily routines and habits say more about what we truly value than our conscious ideals. This week, be open to allowing the foundations you’ve laid this year for how you want to structure your routine to receive some insight from your spirit. There is value in communicating your romanticized ideals, and understand the difference between ideals and the reality of the daily actions you take. The more you are aware of how you show up, the more you can align that to your ideals.
Sagittarius: There is an energetic rule that says “one soul per energetic body.” When we are experiencing transits like you are, we have the tendency to want to merge to create intimacy. This can come through as avoiding safer s*x, or through wanting other people to hold your emotions while you hold theirs. One of the beauties of relationship, though, is that the other person is separate and unknown. Intentionally listen to what is different and even ugly about the people you love and honor that, rather than only noticing what seems comfortable to you now.
Capricorn: Just because you say something or expect it of your family and partners this week does not mean that it is true or real. You may feel the urge this week to think or communicate a beautiful ideal that makes you feel safe, but true safety is found in paying attention to reality and allowing it to exist. If you do not like how people are treating you, make sure you are taking responsibility for your own boundaries, rather than trying to control your partners and family.
Aquarius: When we try to write for everyone, centering what the masses will think of us, we end up writing for nobody. This week is a good opportunity, even though I think you will hate this advice, for you to try out a daily journaling practice that is nurturing for you. You are private and sensitive in your daily habits, and would probably rather joke around than write about what is vulnerable to you, and that’s a place to start. Compile your best jokes into a journal, then talk to your therapist about what they reveal about how you nurture yourself.
Pisces: When we know what the boundaries are, we can be truly creative. For you, this is especially true related to your boundaries around money and how you show up with children and creative projects. Journal or chat with a friend about your dreams of what abundance could be for you, and then be honest about your reality and what you can create to make that happen.
