Curiosity Over Scarcity: Horoscopes August 24-August 30, 2026
This week, we are coming to the end of eclipse season, which has been a doozy. If you have not yet done your protest spells or justice workings, this is a good week to petition for justice and change. Eclipses are historically times when kings fall from power, and that can be relevant in our personal, national, and international communities.
When we watch the news, it is easy to fall into scarcity, feeling like we don’t belong and like nothing we do has the impact we want. I like to offer cheesy advice that works for me. It is that if you find yourself in scare-city, take a trip over to curio-city instead. You’re more likely to make progress and have fun that way.
This week, the partial lunar eclipse hits our charts pretty differently, but for all of us there is an invitation to allow insecurity or scarcity to exist, and analyze our situations from a place of realism. When you try to fix or criticize yourself instead of realistically analyzing the results you are getting with curiosity, you can get stuck in a downward spiral. Instead, consider flowing with the surprises.

For horoscope principles this week, I am primarily looking at the following celestial events:
Tuesday, August 25, 2026:
Mercury goes into Virgo at 4:04am Pacific. Mercury rules Virgo, meaning they are at home there. Virgo is analytical energy, which can become critical or perfectionistic and also can be used for discernment, quick thinking, and agile communication. It has the ability to look at the component parts of a situation and assess them. Though we are still in eclipse season, both Mercury and Venus are at home right now, which provides some supports for thinking clearly and finding beauty in the midst of the challenges and surprises.
Mercury in Virgo trines Chiron in Taurus at 11:57am Pacific. Just as Mercury enters Virgo, they give us the opportunity to analyze and evaluate how we’ve been handling our wounding around needs and caring for ourselves. This is a chance to be realistic about this and meet any needs that you’ve been unconsciously (or consciously) ignoring.
Thursday, August 27, 2026:
Mercury is cazimi (conjunct) the Sun in Virgo at 10:03am Pacific. This gives a jolt of energy to the work Mercury is doing in Virgo. The trick of this transit and the week leading up to the eclipse is it might start feeling like everything is going right for you, and the eclipse is still likely to bring surprises. If we get too committed to perfectionism or turn the analysis against ourselves, it shuts down the creativity available with the Virgo energy.
The partial lunar eclipse (Full Moon) in Pisces is at 9:18pm Pacific. The Sun is in Virgo and the Moon is in Pisces. Because the eclipse blots out the Moon in the sky, and the Moon represents our security and emotional responses, this can bring an intense feeling of insecurity. This feeling will pass, and you do not have to make it mean you have done anything wrong or analyze yourself about it. Use the Virgo energy in your favor, not against yourself.
Friday, August 28, 2026:
Mercury in Virgo squares Uranus in Gemini at 12:24am Pacific. This energy takes the destabilization from the transits on Thursday, emphasizes them, and invites you to do something creative with them. This is energy that can fry out electronics and bring surprises in communication, but it can also offer you the opportunity to change how you think and communicate. If something seems immovable, look at it from a new angle.
The Moon is void of course in Pisces from 9:14 am until Saturday, August 29, at 7:37pm Pacific. This is a Hellenistic void of course moon, which is significant because it means the moon makes no traditional aspects for 30 degrees. If you’ve felt destabilized through the eclipses, this is a good time to rest, recover, repair. Do not try to start anything new.
The Sun in Virgo goes from Gate 59 (establishing true intimacy) to Gate 40 (giving from a place of sacred boundaries). Throughout the week, this energy invites us to strike a balance between the mysteriousness that creates attraction and the transparency that creates trust. Then, in transitioning to Gate 40, we look at how we give to our closest community. Giving from a place that honors our sacred energy is healthy, where giving to the point of exhaustion is not sustainable or healthy, even to those who seem to benefit.
The Moon travels through Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces, and into Aries this week; Neptune and Saturn continue in Aries; Mars continues in Cancer; Jupiter continues in Leo; Pluto continues in Aquarius.
These are the principles to consider for the week of August 24, 2026. It is worth taking a look at both your rising and sun sign horoscopes (visit astro.com to find your rising sign):
Aries: Failure is taking real action to get one result and getting a different result. When you notice a failure in your life, be sure to reward the actions that you took, rather than criticizing your worth as a person. Getting a result more in line with what you want comes from adjusting the actions you are taking, not self-abuse. This week, take an honest look at not just your focused actions, but also your daily habits, and whether they are creating the life you want.
Taurus: What we create both represents who we are and does not represent who we are at all. This can be difficult to sit with for someone who values comfort, beauty, and wonder, and who also wants others to admire your creative babies as much as you do. This week is a good opportunity to consider how much your creative projects actually represent what you truly value and talk through any shifts you want to make. Don’t forget to consider your human needs in the analysis.
Gemini: Marie Kondo tells us that our surroundings should spark joy both to honor our sacred energy and the sacred energy of the things and beings around us. This is a good week to take inventory of anything in your life, especially in your home, that does not spark joy. Who you are is undergoing significant changes, and so what used to resonate with you may no longer resonate. That’s growth! Communicate your thanks to anything you are releasing that is no longer aligned.
Cancer: When things feel chaotic, it is better to slow down than to speed up out of false urgency. This week, you may be surprised about people’s reactions to you, come off more harsh or abrupt than you mean to, or feel cut off from your emotions. This is a sign to slow down, come back to yourself, and focus on the one simple thing you can think, say, or do, that represents who you know yourself to be. This chaotic experience will pass, but in the mean time, use your journal and over-communicate instead of isolating.
Leo: Values are not good or bad, but instead they are a symbolic or energetic expression of our current alignment. For example, you know if you value nature by how much time you spend in nature, not by whether you think other people think you should value nature. The same goes for your relationships and any other value. This week is an opportunity to spend some intentional time energy budgeting. Notice what you are investing your time and energy in, whether it is aligned with what you think your values are, and whether you want to make adjustments between your current alignment and your ideal alignment.
Virgo: Living in flow doesn’t mean everything always goes right for you, but instead means that you are able to adapt to the currents and obstacles in life. This week, keep in mind your exceptional ability to adapt, as long as you don’t get stuck on your internal fears. If you feel insecure in your partnerships, come back to the truth that who you are is flexible and was never required to be one thing. Use your conscious mind and communications skills to think and talk through what is right for you.
Libra: A thought is a sentence in your mind. The good news about that is that once you realize a thought is unhealthy or harmful, it is pretty easy to stop believing it and release it. The bad news is that our brains are pretty good at convincing us we should debate the whether our thoughts are real or not instead of looking at how they feel and what they create. This week, even as you look magnetic on the outside, your mind may be busy analyzing everything in the background. Let it run, but if you start to feel depressed, stop and consider whether your thoughts are helping you, not whether they are true.
Scorpio: S*x and d3@th are two topics that we consider taboo if we want to live only in our heads and not acknowledge our bodies. People do this for many reasons including scarcity around the limitations of living in a human body and trauma around those experiences. But, they are also sources of fascination and even comedy. This week, consider finding spaces where it is comfortable to talk about those topics. You may feel more disconnected from your body than normal, but accessing spaces to chat could bring you back to your depth of connection to life cycles.
Sagittarius: Overthinking is really a misnomer for undirected thinking. There’s really no problem with thinking a topic that is interesting, but it becomes a problem when the thinking stops being fun and starts being self-harm. This week, you may feel somewhat more cut off from your emotions than usual, so take time to intentionally notice your body and how you feel, rather than allowing your thinking to totally run the show. Instead of trying to outsmart your closest partners or holding them to past conversations, be curious about the changes they are experiencing and allow yourself to learn.
Capricorn: There is a documented thinking error common to most humans that tells us that the taller someone is, the more reliable they are, and the older information is, the more reliable it is. Just because someone is taller or older than you does not mean they are giving you good information. I say this because this week, you may experience some insecurity around the intuition you get from your body and inner child. It may seem like the answer exists outside of you. Use your analytical powers to consider whether this is true, without assuming whether it is or isn’t. Both outside and inside information can be important to consider.
Aquarius: Sometimes, you can do everything right, and the rules of the universe still apply to you, meaning that life is still full of challenges and surprises. Other people receive unfair benefits and rewards, while you get overlooked. This happens because of the cycles of the universe, not because of something about you. And also, this week consider analyzing what other people are doing with money that works without turning that analysis against yourself.
Pisces: The ability to listen and accurately reflect back what someone else is saying is more useful than being right. You may have the tendency to be a perfectionist when it comes to your closest relationships, and that can be helpful if you use it as discernment regarding other people, but can be disastrous if you turn it against yourself. This week, you may feel more insecure and self-conscious than usual. Notice these feelings and allow them to happen, and rather than over-analyzing them or trying to fix them. Use your analytical skills to listen to your partners instead of trying to win arguments.
